Just before taking the shot on a strutting tom, this deer walked up to the blind and stuck her head in way of the shot. Luckily she was spotted before the trigger was pulled!
150 Yards w/Hunting Bow - Stabilizer vs No Stabilizer
Просмотров 99 тыс.6 лет назад
Had some fun, and tested my accuracy with & without a 10" stabilizer on my hunting bow at 150 yards. Thirty total shots (five rounds of three arrows with a stabilizer, five rounds w/o). This was my first attempt at this, one take. Bow setup (what I hunt with): well tuned Bowtech Destroyer 340 (2011), 70 lbs, 31" draw, well tuned Goldtip Pierce arrows- 474 grain, flying at 298 fps, Stan SX3 rele...
Archery Elk Season Wolf Encounter
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.6 лет назад
I happened to be walking past a meadow when I came across this wolf. I had not been calling, but the wolf happened to be traveling in my direction. It gets within about 20 yards before catching my scent. This was in an area of Wyoming where taking a wolf was not yet legal, but what an archery opportunity, and experience.

Archery Antelope, Public Land - Success!
Просмотров 8 тыс.10 лет назад
I spent a few days stalking and sitting in a blind on public land (on a body of water with many miles of shoreline), passing on a number of animals. Finally decided to take this buck my third day. Went about fifteen yards after the shot. I believe the one buck had slightly more length, and the other had better cutters. I went with the cutters. These are awesome animals!
Big Lake Trout on a Fly Rod

Not a big laker compared to those I've caught jigging, but not bad for a fly.
Denali Successful Summit - Part 2 - Summit, King Salmon
Просмотров 75211 лет назад
Part two takes you along to the summit on a beautiful clear day. We make the "death march" out from 14,000 camp in time to catch the first planes able to fly in over a week due to bad weather conditions. Many of the climbers flew home, but a couple of us hung out in Talkeetna and rented a rod and tried our hand at Salmon fishing. What an awesome adventure! Also be sure to check out pictures fro...
Denali Successful Summit - Part 1 - The climb to High Camp
Просмотров 64111 лет назад
Part one takes you along for the flight into base camp and then up to high camp at 17.000 feet. Our team faces some harsh conditions, frostbite, and delays, but it is all worth it in the end. You can watch Part 2 for beautiful summit footage, as well as a peak at the King Salmon I catch after getting back to Talkeetana! What an awesome adventure! Also be sure to check out pictures from the trip...
ARCHERY ANTELOPE SUCCESS
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.12 лет назад
I had been out for a few days stalking pronghorn with my bow when I stumbled upon a great water hole. Decided to try my hand at hunting from a blind. This is still difficult hunting which requires some discipline as I spent 11-14 hour days sitting in the confines of a blind. I learned a lot observing from the blind. The antelope approached very cautious and were always on edge compared to mule ...
ARCHERY TURKEY, HEAD-SHOT
Просмотров 12 тыс.12 лет назад
I had decided if the opportunity arose that I would take a head-shot, whether it be on a Jake or a Tom. These two birds came strutting right up to the decoy and presented the perfect opportunity! The Magnus Bullhead broadhead made short work of him! No better shot on a turkey than a head shot! No wounded animals, no tracking.

HOW TO TIE A D-LOOP ON YOUR BOW STRING - Archery
What can I use for the loop
Great video but my string was way smaller lol
do you need a bow press? I saw from some other videos that you need a bow press? Idk tho
No. They use a bow press or bow vice to hold the bow so it’s not moving around
All done while wearing sunnies.
That is like my groups at 40 yards
man cal me skiil issue =))
I can’t see 159 yards what is going on here exactly
I like the fart when snugging it up good 😂
Great vid. That’s what I needed to see.
What’s your bow and what’s it set up at?
I have thought about tak8ng my front stabalizer off and just run my back bar because my sight k8nd of acts like a front stabalizer
This is absolutely how not to tie your D-Loop.
Did my first d loop watching this video 😂
Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

150 yards? Heck no. Lol. I can even hit the barn at that range.
Just retrieving his arrows is a workout. 😅
Thanks for making this video, it seemed to me up until the last round the groups without stabilizer were slightly better. I was just wondering about this very thing stabilizer vs no stabilizer. I could see how the weight out front creates leverage to magnify torque rather than reduce it....just a theory though.
Thank you!!!👍
I've recently dropped using a stab on a carbon defiant 34. Especially in the wind where the stap gets blown around more. Each bow is different though
Can u do it with paracord
Stabilizer is to get in target fast
Sure helpful 👍🏽
I know this is an older video, but it was the most helpful to me out of the dozen or so that I watched today. Due to a recent home and job move, I don't have a close archery shop anymore. This video was a huge help.
Is it just 550 paracord?
No.
Now Cameron Burkett of kelly walsh high school has the record at 65'10.25". That throw was crazy to watch. Also shout out to the Rock springs coach, Coach Miur, at the very end confirming the distance.
Props for doing this without a golf cart.
You are an insane shot bro. I do about the is good at 80 yards. Never tried this. Idk… maybe I can do it. I shoot a Mathew’s LX lol.
Thanks, perfect video for this application. Cheers!
My favorite bow is ridiculously off balance without a stabilizer. It might help or not, but its much more comfortable.
Can you explain how you determined the appropriate place to draw a dot for 150?
thanks a bunch this help me get this loop on right very good
Dang
Cheers man what is the best string. Can you use a synthetic shoelace
Thanks. Exactly what I needed
Nock points are good between your D-loop even for hunting applications. Should anything happen to your D-loop that you need to replace it in the field, you’ll always have an accurate nocking point. Without it, you might install the D-loop to high or to low.
Thanks for saving me some money on gear "I think I need"
150 yards, I can not see the target.
Always amazing me the little burnt mushroom bit holds under all that pressure
Where u get the cord from if u don’t mind me asking
Thanks for the info it helped me a lot and over all the close up was good
Perhaps the stabilizer is better for when you have been walking ,you’re exhausted and need to get a perfect flat and level shot off. First shot at the range is always different than an adrenaline pumped tired from walking shot on an animal. Nice video tho!👍🏽
Can I use class 3 550 paracord?
Awesome, thank-you for the info.
Thanks man! Made my day
What a beauty! Great Job.
Shooting is all about confidence...and training!
I'ma put one of these on my rifle
He's right. A well exercised arm and a practiced, dead hand are all the mass stabilization you really need.
Idk still 😐
Is it 7.26 kg shot put ?
No it's 12 lbs.
